Triangler Stays in Top 10 on Sales Charts
Triangler dropped to #6 in sales in Japan according to Oricon's weekly charts,
which is still very impressive. I believe this is the first time Maaya has a single that's remained in
the top 10 for two weeks in a row.
I've added a Triangler page to the site and uploaded both mp3 and streaming
sample clips from the single. Even though I rarely write reviews of cds anymore, I posted some thoughts on Triangler.

Triangler Hits #3 on Oricon Sales Chart, Macross Frontier OST 1 Track List
During it's first week of release, Triangler reached #3 in sales in Japan according to
Oricon. This is the first time that a
cd single from Maaya has reach as high as #3 on Oricon's weekly sales chart, which is quite an
accomplishment for her.
New Anime Role in World Destruction
I found out today that Maaya has landed another lead voice role in the upcoming anime World Destruction,
which will be based on an upcoming Nintendo DS game under the same name (thanks duckroll). The anime is
scheduled to air in Japan around the same time the game will be released, which is this summer. Maaya voices
a character named Morute Aashera, which is shown in the below scan from Japanese magazine
Dengeki Maou (click for a larger image, she's the bottom left character).
Production IG is working on the anime and the videogame is being developed by Image Epoch. Sega is
overseeing production of both the game and anime, they have an official site here.

Official Maaya Site Updates, Kara no Kyoukai Movie 4 Trailer
Maaya's new single, Triangler, is out today. CD Japan shipped my order yesterday, so I should receive it
in a couple days (hopefully by the end of the week). Victor Ent. updated Maaya's official site with a new video to
celebrate the release. On the Triangler splash page,
click on the top-rightmost triangle to watch the video. If you haven't visited her site recently, there's also
a photo gallery of the PV shoot and a video web part you can add to your own site / blog. In the
news section, there's some
info that the Triangler single includes a typo in the packaging. Apparently they misspelled Gabriela Robin's name.
I noticed a trailer for the 4th movie for Kara no Kyoukai on Youtube. The movie is scheduled to premier in
Japanese theaters in May. Maaya sounds really cool in the trailer, take a look.
The R2s dvds for movies 1 thru 3 are scheduled for release from May thru July (one movie per month). Apparently
the limited editions include soundtrack cds. I wish they would release the cds separately. Anyways, here's a

Macross Frontier OST 1 Info
The first soundtrack cd for Macross Frontier is scheduled for release in June. The track list isn't
available yet, but the TV version / edit of Triangler will probably be included. A lot of Maaya fans
also enjoy Yoko Kanno's music, so I thought I might as well post about OST 1. Here are some details
and a couple links where the cd is available for preorder.
Triangler TV Version
Episode 1 of Macross Frontier aired on Japanese TV yesterday and included Triangler. Interestingly enough,
the official ending song wasn't used. In any case, I made an mp3 of the TV version of Triangler and have
uploaded it to the site. Here's also a video of the Macross F opening that someone else posted on Youtube.
Triangler PV and Official Sample Clip
Maaya's official web site has been updated with a
splash page for her new Macross Frontier single. On the splash page, there's links to a sample clip, the
PV (music video) and video of Maaya talking about Triangler (click on the floating triangles). There are a
few triangles that don't link to anything yet, but probably represent content that will be added closer to
the release date of the single. Someone already captured and uploaded the PV to Youtube, so I've embedded it below.

Another Macross F TV Commercial & Leaked Demo of Triangler
A 30 second commercial for Macross Frontier has been airing in Japan and provides a longer clip of
Maaya's and Yoko Kanno's new song. The commercial is on YouTube,
and I've uploaded it to my own site as well.
Apparently someone leaked the full length Triangler song onto the Internet, however it sounds quite rough and is probably
a demo cut/version. I found out about this leak on
A Gabriela Robin Site (Yoko Kanno fansite), where the webmaster posted a ~90 second sample. I had some doubts about
Maaya's new song, but those doubts were erased after I listened to the sample. The short clips of Triangler used in
the Macross F commercials are deceiving and don't do justice to the song. If you haven't preordered the
single yet and don't after listening to the leaked demo version, then you are not a true Maaya fan in my opinion.
Macross Frontier TV Commercial
A new commercial for Macross Frontier started airing in Japan, and it uses the new song from Maaya and Yoko Kanno.
It's only 15 seconds and there's an annoying narrator / announcer, but it's better than nothing. The clip
provides a small taste of what Triangler sounds like, and I like what I hear so far. Here's a streaming video

Details on Macross Frontier OP Single
Victor Entertainment has posted an announcement on
Maaya's official site about her upcoming single for Macross F. People have discovered more info on the track list from
the Macross Frontier web site and
Coma.
Apparently Yoko Kanno only composes the first track, which I find somewhat disappointing. The title of the first track
(the Macross F opening theme song) is also transliterated as "Triangler" in English, not "Triangular"
as I previously posted. The third and fourth tracks are karaoke versions of the two songs. Here's the new / updated info.

Triangular is probably the song that was mentioned recently on Maaya's official web site. It has been a
long time since Maaya and Yoko Kanno worked together, and I'm really happy that they are collaborating
again. Shoji Kawamori is the chief director of Macross Frontier, which will start airing on Japan TV at beginning
of April. This new Macross anime also marks the first time all three people have worked together since
Arjuna. In the past,
Shoji Kawamori and Yoko Kanno have also worked together on
Macross 7 and
Macross Plus.
